Technical Information

Stage I
Reconfiguration of the tram route, reconstruction of the road structure, and construction of an underground road passage at the intersection in front of the Crișul store.

Road passage: total length 340 m, underground passage 102 m, access ramps 128 m and 110 m, lane width 2×4.00 m, vertical clearance 4.50 m.
Passage structure: screens made of secant bored piles, raft foundation, and monolithic reinforced concrete slab.
Urban improvements: green areas with trees (Acer Campestre, Carpinus Betulus, Tilia Tomntosa, Robinia Pseudoacacia), new street furniture (benches, bicycle racks, drinking fountains, charging stations for bicycles and electric cars).
Smart infrastructure: modern traffic lights, video traffic monitoring, e-ticketing subsystems, and passenger information.

Stage II
Pedestrianization of Bucharest Square in the railway station area and construction of an underground road passage on Calea Republicii.

Road passage: total length 566 m, underground passage 380 m, access ramps 90 m and 96 m, lane width 2×4.00 m, vertical clearance 4.50 m.
Technical solution: secant bored piles, reinforced concrete raft foundation and monolithic slab, supplemented by retaining walls and L-shaped connecting walls.
The related works are similar to those in Stage I.

General Description

The Magheru – Republicii corridor modernization project is one of the most extensive urban infrastructure interventions in the central area of Oradea. It is being carried out in two stages and includes road infrastructure and public transport works, as well as urban and landscaping improvements. The intervention area includes Magheru Street (from the Magheru Passage to the intersection with Calea Republicii – Crișul Pedestrian Passage) and continues on Republicii Street to the intersection with Petőfi Sándor Street. The project involves the reconstruction of the existing road and pedestrian infrastructure, the construction of a new pedestrian passage, the installation of new street lighting, and the landscaping of the area.
